India said that the arms management process must be completed before forming the interim government in Nepal, local newspaper The Kathmandu Post reported on Tuesday.
India termed the promulgation of the interim constitution and formation of an interim legislature in Nepal as a "significant milestones" while welcoming it on Monday.
"The government of India welcomes the promulgation of the interim constitution and the formation of the interim legislature in Nepal," said a statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The statement also stressed that the UN-led process of managing the arms and armies of the government and the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) (formerly known as guerrilla) must be credible and complete, before the formation of the interim government.
India remains committed to provide "all the support it can" to assist the people and the political parties of Nepal in their peace process, the statement added.
