Death toll in eastern Baghdad's car bomb attack rises to 10

The death toll in a car bombing near a university in eastern Baghdad on Tuesday rose to 10, while the wounded also increased to 25, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

The powerful blast killed 10 people, including students and employees in the university, and wounding up to 25 others, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Earlier, the source, citing the initial police reports, said that "A car bomb parking near the main gate of the al-Mustansriyah University detonated around 4:00 p.m. (1300 GMT), killing at least two and wounding seven others."

Series of bomb attacks hit Baghdad on Tuesday, killing at least 23 people and wounding up to 90 others.
