The Zambian government thanks China for its supports for the country's health sector by providing technical assistance and human resources, a health official has said.
Speaking on Wednesday night at a farewell party for 28 Chinese doctors who have been working in the country over the last two years, Zambian Health Minister Angela Chifire paid tribute to the Chinese government for its continued supports for various sectors of the Zambian society, especially the health sector.
China has sent hundreds of doctors to Zambia to assist the country fight the shortage of medical personnel.
The outgoing team is the 12th one which Chifire said had "added great value to the delivery of health services to Zambians".
Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Baodong thanked the Zambian government and citizens on behalf of the medical team for their supports and cooperation during the two years of work in the country.
Li said a new team of medical doctors would come soon after the departure of the current one to replace them and continue the delivery of health services.
