Bomb attacks kill traffic policeman, wound three in Baghdad
font size

A traffic policeman was killed and three others were wounded in two roadside bomb attacks in Baghdad on Friday, an Interior Ministry source said.

A roadside bomb went off near a group of traffic policemen gathering close to the Elwiyah communication center in central Baghdad, killing one of them and wounding another, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Another roadside bomb struck a traffic police convoy on the Jadriyah Bridge in southern Baghdad, wounding two more policemen, the source added.

The traffic police convoy was carrying the body of the policeman killed in the first attack, the source said.

Insurgents frequently attack Iraqi security forces, accusing them of collaborating with the U.S. occupation.
