Palestinian journalists staged a one- day strike on Tuesday in protest against the bombing attack on the Gaza offices of the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya TV channel.

Witnesses said that coincided with the Tuesday strike, a group of Palestinian journalists demonstrated in Gaza City and staged a sit-in outside parliament in Gaza.

A statement distributed at the sit-in announced that the journalists' union "has decided to stage a one-day strike beginning at 11 am (0900 GMT) to reject the criminal aggression against Al-Arabiya."

According to the strike call, the protesters vowed not to cover the resumption of unity government talks Tuesday evening between the governing Islamist Resistance Movement (Hamas) and its rival Fatah movement led by Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas.

Offices of Al-Arabiya TV channel in Gaza was rocked by huge explosion on Monday night, causing no casualties, witnesses said.

They added that unknown militants detonated a bomb and destroyed the entrance of the Al-Arabiya satellite television on the 12th floor of one of Gaza City buildings.

The 15-floor building in Gaza City's downtown contains also bureaus of several Arab and international television networks, as well as news agencies and local radio stations.
