A 5.3-magnitude earthquake rocked eastern part of Indonesia on Wednesday, no casualty or damages reported, Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics said in Jakarta.
The quake struck at 15:40 Jakarta time with epicenter of 79 kilometers Bitung regency of North Sulawesi province and 33 kilometers under seabed, an official of the agency Theresia Elvin told Xinhua.
Indonesian is laid on a vulnerable quake hit zone that called " the Pacific Rim of Fire," where continental plates meet causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
