Maritime traffic control for Sutong Bridge construction
font size

Photo:<!--###IMAGE_BRIEF###-->
A maritime boat patrols as Sutong Bridge is under construction in East China's Jiangsu Province, January 26, 2007. Sutong Bridge, 108 kilometres upstream of the Yangtze estuary and 82 kilometres downstream of the Jiangyin Bridge, links Suzhou and Nantong in Jiangsu Province. The cable-stayed bridge, with a main span of 1,088 metres, will set a new world record for that type of highway bridge. Authorities in Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang jointly carried out the maritime traffic control on Friday to ensure the safety for construction of the main span of Sutong Bridge. (newsphoto)
