Jordan's King Abdullah II on Monday telephoned Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to condemn the suicide bombing in southern Israel earlier in the day and stress the need to accelerate peace process.
According to a royal court statement, Abdullah denounced the bombing attack and expressed hope that the attack will not affect efforts underway to revive the peace process and restore negotiation between the Palestinians and Israelis.
Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh earlier denied claims that perpetrator of Eilat bombing had entered Israel via Jordanian territories.
"It is impossible for the bomber to have crossed to Jordan, or stayed in the country at any time or to have entered into Eilat from the Jordanian borders," he said.
On Monday morning, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a local bakery in Eilat, some 350 km south of Jerusalem, killing three local Israelis.
