A landlocked country in central-southern Africa, the Republic of Zambia covers an area of 750,000 square km and has a population of 10.55 million. The rural residents are mainly primitive religious believers, and the rest of them are Christian Protestants and Catholic. The official language is English. The national capital is Lusaka. Since China and Zambia established the diplomatic relations on Oct. 29, 1964, bilateral relations have been developing smoothly, and great success has been made in bilateral cooperation in the economy, trade and social development.
