Chun Young-woo, South Korean top negotiator for the six-party talks, is to visit Moscow on Wednesday to mediate for a new round of the six-part talks, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
"Deputy Minister Chun Young-woo will visit Moscow from Jan. 31 through Feb. 1 to discuss the new round of the six-party talks," the ministry said in a press release.
Chun plans to "focus on ways to produce actual progress during the next round" of the six-party talks, the statement said.
The six-party talks on the nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula, which comprises China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), South Korea, the United States, Russia and Japan, gathered in Beijing last December to seek solution to the nuclear issues.
The parties concerned failed to make major progress during the meeting but agreed to have another session of the talks in the future.
