DPRK accuses U.S. of committing over 180 aerial espionage in January
font size

The United States committed more than 180 cases of aerial espionage against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in January, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)quoted a military source as saying on Wednesday.

DPRK accused the United States of using tactical reconnaissance planes including U-2s and EP-3 to fly above Tokjok Islet and the areas of Phochon and Sokcho to photograph and spy on DPRK territory.

DPRK also claimed that eight U.S. reconnaissance planes spied on the depth of military capacity of DPRK from Jan. 23 to 25.

"Such aerial espionage...clearly indicate that they are putting more spurs on their preparations for a war of aggression against it (DPRK) in the new year", said the KCNA.

According to the KCNA, the U.S. committed more than 2,200 cases of aerial espionage last year.
