Japan reaped its third Alpine skiing gold medal at the sixth Asian Winter Games through Chika Kato, who triumphed in the women's slalom here on Friday.
Kato notched a combined time of one minute and 24.83 seconds for the victory, beating teammate Moe Hanaoka to the second place in 1: 25.78.
Oh Jae-eun from South Korea settled for the bronze with 1:27.77 ahead of Chinese Miao Liyan, who came in fourth with 1:28.31.
"I could have done better," said Miao, who had earlier collected a fourth finish in the women's giant slalom. "But I was not good enough in the second run."
Miao clocked 43.91 seconds in the first run, 0.3 seconds behind Oh.
"I thought I could overtake Oh in the second run, but that thought distracted me," Miao said.
