U.S. helicopter crashes in north of Baghdad: TV

A U.S. helicopter crashed in an area north of Baghdad early on Friday, Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported.

The U.S. military did not confirm the incident, only saying they were checking reports of a possible aircraft down.

Media reports quoted residents at Taji area, some 20 km north of Baghdad, as saying that they saw helicopter come down shortly after dawn.
