Three U.S. soldier die in two vehicle accidents in IraqThree U.S. soldiers died in two separate vehicle accidents on Thursday, the U.S. military said on Friday. The military said in a statement that two soldiers, assigned to Multi-National Corps in Iraq, died at about 9:30 p.m. (1830 GMT) Thursday in a vehicle accident at Camp Liberty near Baghdad. A third soldier died of wounds sustained when his vehicle rolled over on Thursday, the military said in a separate statement. The brief statement did not specify the location of the incident, but said the soldier was assigned to Task Force Lightning, which is responsible for the north-central area of Iraq, including the cities of Balad, Kirkuk, Tikrit, Mosul and Samarra. The statements did not mention the causes of these vehicle accidents either. Since the U.S.-led war in Iraq broke out in March 2003, more than 3,085 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq, according to media count based on Pentagon figures. Source: Xinhua |
