A long-distance cycling race to be held in Myanmar this month, which aimed at promoting the country's cycling sport and bringing out outstanding cyclists for international competitions, according to the Myanmar Cycling Federation (MCF) Saturday.
The 1,000-mile (about 1,600-kilometer) men's and women's cycling race, sponsored by the MCF, is scheduled on Feb.12-24.
Cyclists aged between 18 to 50 will participate at the 13-day Yangon-Pyay-Mandalay-Yangon race, the MCF said.
The MCF, founded in 1947, has a few hundreds of members.
Since 1961, Myanmar cyclists have won one gold, one silver and nine bronze metals at the Southeast Asian Games.
