Syria and Indonesia signed on Sunday an agreement to enhance economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries, the official SANA news agency reported.
The agreement was signed by Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al- Muallem and his visiting Indonesian counterpart Hasan Wirajuda.
The two sides also signed a memo of understanding on setting up a joint committee for boosting cooperation in economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields.
The Indonesian top diplomat described the Syrian-Indonesian relations as excellent on the political level, asserting the two sides' determination for strengthening and deepening these relations in all fields.
Muallem and Wirajuda held a meeting on Saturday in which both sides exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, mainly in Iraq and the occupied Palestinian territories, SANA said.
