A mail bomb exploded on Monday morning at the London headquarters of congestion charge firm Capita, the Sky News Television reported.

A female employee at the office in Victoria Street was slightly injured. She is understood to have opened the envelope.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 9:40 this morning to reports of a suspect package at the business address in Victoria Street.A female employee has been taken to hospital with minor injuries," he said.

The package is believed to have been in an office above a row of shops.

Several ambulances, fire engines and police vehicles are parked outside the building. Police dogs are also at the scenes and have been taken inside, the Sky News said.
