The Center for Food Safety of Hong Kong said Monday that it has suspended processing applications for importing poultry and poultry products from Britain, following confirmation of an outbreak of the H5N1 avian influenza on a poultry farm.
The center will seek more information about the case from the relevant authorities.
Hong Kong imported about 11,400 tons of frozen poultry meat and offal from Britain from January to October last year, the center said.
