Hezbollah denies Israeli charges of bomb plantingLebanese Hezbollah said Tuesday the four roadside bombs that have been discovered in northern Israel were planted before the outbreak of the Lebanon war last summer, the Naharnet news website reported. The four bombs were planted "before the recent July war as part of the defense procedures to prevent the enemy from penetrating Lebanese territory," said Hezbollah in a statement released by its press office. The Israeli army said Monday that it discovered four bombs on the Israeli side of the border with Lebanon and accused Hezbollah of planting them recently which constituted a violation to the UN Security Council Resolution 1701 that ended the war starting from Aug. 14 last year. Hezbollah's statement termed the Israeli statement "meaningless" and reiterated that its fighters will always "defend" their homeland. Source: Xinhua |
