Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Islamic Resistance Movement's (Hamas) chief Khaled Mashaal announced on Wednesday from the holy Saudi City of Mecca that they wouldn't leave before they reach an agreement.
Abbas, Mashaal, Hamas-led government Premier Ismail Haneya, senior Fatah and Hamas movement's leaders arrived in Mecca coming from Jeddah on Wednesday morning and had immediately began their first session of dialogue.
"There is no choice left for us except to agree. We will never leave Mecca before we reach an agreement on forming a national unity government," Abbas said in a short speech in the opening ceremony of the Palestinian dialogue.
Mashaal, meanwhile, said that "We really came here to agree. I want to assure to our people that we won't leave this holy place before we agree," said Mashaal in his short speech.
