Eighty Tanzanian military police men and women have left for Lebanon to join the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
They left the country on Wednesday, according to local press reports on Thursday.
It was the first time for Tanzania to send its troops outside Africa.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon is part of the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 that ended a 34-day conflict between Israeli forces and Lebanon's Hizbollah militias last year.
