Afghan and the U.S.-led coalition forces arrested two men in connection with aiding foreign fighters and facilitating terrorist operations in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, a coalition statement said.
The two were detained in Barmal district of Paktika province bordering Pakistan, the statement said.
"Reliable information corroborated by village elders led the Paktika-based Afghan force and coalition troops to the compound," it said.
"The primary suspect in the operation is wanted for facilitating the movement of foreign fighters into and around the area, and has connections to attacks in Paktika and the neighboring Khost province," the statement said.
Paktika has been a hotbed of Taliban and other militants, who have attacked foreign and Afghan forces frequently.
