Chinese president concludes state visit to Mozambique
font size

Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday concluded his state visit to Mozambique and left Maputo for Victoria, capital of Seychelles.

In Maputo, Hu held talks with Mozambican President Armando Emilio Guebuza. They had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations as well as major global and regional issues of common concern and reached broad consensus.

During Hu's visit, the two sides signed accords on a partial relief of Mozambique's debts to China, the construction of Mozambique's national stadium and the establishment of an agricultural technology demonstration center in Mozambique, among other things.

The Chinese-Mozambican ties have enjoyed sound development since the two countries established diplomatic relations 31 years ago. In recent years, the two countries have had mutually beneficial cooperation in infrastructure construction, agriculture and other areas.

Seychelles, an archipelago country in the west Indian Ocean, is the last leg of Hu's ongoing eight-nation Africa tour. Before Mozambique, Hu visited Cameroon, Liberia, Sudan, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa.
