font size

Indonesia will send at least 800 athletes to compete in 33 disciplines at the Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand in December, the Jakarta Post reported here.

"They will be accompanied by 150 local coaches and 20 foreign coaches, in addition to 35 team managers," Achmad Sucipto the head of Indonesia's task force for the biannual sporting event said on Friday.

Indonesian State Minister for Youth and Sport Affairs Adhayaksa Dault on Friday officiated the start of the national training program in preparation for the games.

The country hopes to finish at least fourth in the overall medal standings, after finishing fifth at 2005 Games in the Philippines.
