Deal on forming Palestinian coalition gov't to be finalized as Abbas returns Gaza: Haneya
font size

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haneya said Monday that the deal on forming a national unity government will be finalized when President Mahmoud Abbas returns to Gaza.

"As soon as President Mahmoud Abbas comes to Gaza, we will immediately finalize, through dialogue, the remaining points of the agreement related to forming a national unity government," said Haneya.

He added that Abbas asked him to form the coming government in a letter of designation that was agreed on Mecca talks on Thursday during which Hamas and Fatah forged an agreement to form a national unity government aimed at ending infighting and lifting international siege.
