Indonesian leaders wish for better ties with China in Spring Festival greetings

The Indonesian leaders wished for betters ties with China in their Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese leaders.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono sent a message to his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao on Thursday in which he expressed satisfaction over the smooth development of the relationship between the two countries and wished further cooperation in the future.

Both countries had seen the smooth development of ties in recent years on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues, Susilo said in the message.

He believed that the two countries would further enhance their cooperation in efforts to promote national development, world peace and prosperity.

Susilo also delivered a separate message to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, calling for a common effort to strengthen friendly ties to benefit the peoples of both countries.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla sent a good-will message to his Chinese counterpart Zeng Qinghong to convey holiday greetings to the Chinese people.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing received a similar message from his Indonesian counterpart Hassan Wirajuda, who hailed the long-term friendly ties between the two countries and hoped for further progress in the future.
