The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) refused Indonesia's request to question a high profile terrorist suspects Hambali in Indonesia, Indonesian police said here Tuesday.
U.S. legal attache of the U.S. embassy in Indonesia Frederick Wong said that Indonesia only may submit a number of questions to be asked to Hambali in the U.S, according to the National Police spokesman Anton Bachrul Alam.
Indonesian police had asked for a direct access to question Hambali in Indonesia to meet the legal procedure of the country.
The police expected that the information from the suspect would help in revealing other terrorist case.
Indonesia was hit by a series of major terrorist attacks in recent years including the Bali bombings in 2002, the blast in Marriot hotel in 2003 and the Australian embassy bombings in 2004.
