Turkey on Tuesday condemned a deadly attack on a cross-border passenger train between India and Pakistan, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The attack on the cross-border train, Samjhauta Express carrying passengers to the Pakistani city of Lahore, which killed 64 people and injured many others, causes deep sorrow and concern, " the statement said.
It said that Turkey condemned any kind of terrorist attack regardless of its reason, reiterating Turkey's call for international cooperation in fight against terrorism.
The train was traveling from the Indian capital of New Delhi to Lahore when a firebomb exploded, burning two carriages in Panipat, a region some 80 km north of New Delhi.
India-Pakistan train links are one of the most visible results of the peace process underway between the two countries.
Relations between India and Pakistan have warmed in recent years.
