Mexican soccer team Toluca will travel early on Wednesday to Cusco to play Peru team Cienciano, in its first game in the Copa Libertadores Group 7, local media said on Tuesday.
The match is due at 9.00 p.m. in the Garcilaso de la Vegal Stadium, in what Perivians call the Imperial City, which is 3,400 feet above sea level.
Toluca has been in Lima training, but will travel the 1,200 south to Cusco in a 90-minute plane ride on Wednesday. Group Seven includes Argentina's Boca Juniors and Bolivia's Bolivar.
The Mexican team is missing its manager, Argentine Americo Gallego, and its main players like Argentines Hernana Cristante and Ariel Rosada; Paraguay's Paulo Da Silva and Edwin Avalos; Uruguay's Vicente Suarez; and Mexican nationals Zinha and Carlos Morales.
Cineniano is leading the Peru championship while Toluca is having a tough time in its domestic contest.
Gallego is sending a B team to the Libertadores, a contest that had previously excluded Mexican teams.
