Strong earthquake hits eastern TurkeyAn earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted eastern Turkey at 13: 05 local time (11:05 GMT) on Wednesday, local NTV reported. Istanbul-based Kandilli Observatory & Seismology Institute was quoted as saying that the earthquake was centered in Sivrice town of Elazig province.
