The Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement denied on Sunday reports that its military wing was planning to carry out suicide attacks against Israeli tourists in Egypt.

"Our movement's strategy has no intentions to carry out actions outside occupied Palestine, even if the targets were Zionist," a senior Islamic Jihad leader Khaled al-Batsh told reporters.

Media reports have recently said that the Egyptian security has arrested a number of Palestinians who sneaked into Egypt from Gaza with explosive devices and eight of them were Jihad members who were planning to strike Israeli tourists in the Sinai Peninsula.

Last month, a suicide bomber from the Islamic Jihad blew himself up in a bakery in southern Israel city of Eilat. The militant, who came from Gaza, could enter Eilat through Egypt.
