Experts from the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are holding a meeting to address institutional mechanisms for regional integration from Feb. 26 to March 3.
The meeting is organized on the theme of "how to make institutional transformation and renewal a success?!" and is aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity to improve the living conditions of the people of sub-Saharan Africa.
It is set to examine the implementation of the New Partnership for African Development in West Africa.
The Ouagadougou meeting will "examine the possibility of establishing region without border where people will have access to the enormous resources at their disposal through the creation of sustainable employment opportunities coupled with equitable distribution systems", according to a press statement.
The overall objective of the meeting is to bring about "sustainable development, peace and regional security in accordance with the ECOWAS strategic plan for poverty reduction."
