China to increase exchanges, cooperation with foreign countries
font size

China will increase exchanges and cooperation with international copyright organizations to improve the internal investment environment and the image of the nation, according to an official from the National Copyright Administration.

This year, the country will focus firstly on increasing exchanges and cooperation with international copyright organizations and get more involved in negotiations on copyright issues and a new treaty. China will work with relevant institutions to finish discussions with the WTO about copyright and get more involved in discussions under the APEC framework to safeguard the country's interests.

Secondly, the country will increase the number of exchanges it holds with developing countries. This will help develop a strong force to protest against unreasonable requirements from developed countries on protecting IPR. Thirdly, China will look at the best way to handle bilateral relationships with the United Sates, Europe, Japan, Australia and others to improve the internal investment environment and the nation's image.

Finally, China will consolidate and strengthen its sound involvement with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and cooperate with them to hold the 2007 International Copyright Forum.
