Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem will visit the United States on March 11-16, aiming to boost the bilateral cooperation on economy, trade, science, technology, education and training, a local spokesman announced Thursday.
The visit aims to foster the recent positive development in the two countries' relations, the foreign ministry's spokesman Le Dung said at a regular press briefing.
Khiem is scheduled to hold talks with his U.S. counterpart Condoleezza Rice, and meet with some other senior officials and leaders of giant enterprises to discuss measures on accelerating the implementation of deals reached by the two sides in the trip to Vietnam by U.S. President George W. Bush last November.
During the six-day trip, Khiem is scheduled to visit Washington D.C, and some other localities in the United States, Dung added.
