U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney was treated on Monday for a blood clot in his left leg, his office said.
Cheney felt discomfort in his calf and "in light of his recent prolonged air travel" visited his doctors at the George Washington University who found blood clot in his left lower leg.
The vice president was given blood-thinning medication, and was allowed to return to work, his office said in a statement.
Cheney, 66, has a history of heart problems and has suffered four heart attacks since 1978. He made a nine-day visit to Japan, Australia, Pakistan and Afghanistan recently.
