India denies involvement in terrorist activities in Baluchistan
font size

The Ministry of Indian External Affairs Thursday denied Indian involvement in any terrorist activities in Baluchistan province of Pakistan.

Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters that "I can state that there was no Indian agency or consulate involved in any activities in Balochistan."

On Wednesday, Pakistan pointed out that India was involved in terrorism in Balochistan at a India-Pakistan joint meeting held in Islamabad.

"We are helping Afghanistan. I categorically deny any involvement of Indian embassy or Indian consulate in any way in Baluchistan," Mukherjee said.

"In the past, Pakistan has raised objections to some of our consulates in Afghanistan, saying the level of trade does not justify this. We have said that we have a number of projects underway in Afghanistan and that the consulates are there because of these projects," he said.
