China starts anti-dumping investigation into imported acetone
font size

Chinese trade officials on Friday started an anti-dumping investigation into acetone originating from Japan, Republic of Korea and Singapore, as well as Taiwan Province, the Ministry of Commerce announced in Beijing on Friday.

Acetone is a chemical used to make plastic, fibers, drugs, organic solvents and other chemicals.

Officials would also examine the damage to the country's own acetone industry, the ministry said without giving further details.

This investigation was expected to be completed in one year, but it could be extended for six more months under special circumstances, according to the ministry.
