A Palestinian national unity government will be established next Wednesday or Thursday, Prime Minister-designate Ismail Haneya said on Saturday.
Haneya said that the government would be put forward for vote of confidence before the parliament next Saturday.
"We want to ripen our government ahead of an Arab summit," he said in a talk show on the television. The summit will be held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh later this month.
Last month, Hamas reached a deal with rival Fatah, ending months of a power struggle that sparked since Hamas took office one year ago.
The Palestinian delegation to the Arab summit will include President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah and Haneya of Hamas to demonstrate Palestinian harmony.
