Netizens warned not to let out military secrets

Internet users shall have national defense security on their mind and be cautious not to let out military secrets in online chatting as well as emails and personal blogs, warned a deputy to the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.

Lin Kang, a legislator from the second artillery corps, said the Internet has made the exchanges of military information easier, as many Web portals have set up special military columns and some military experts have opened blogs.

"Some fanciers pour out military information they know when chatting, emailing and posting articles on the Internet," Lin said, noting that such doings may betray confidential military matters.

He said it is necessary to raise the netizens' awareness of defense security so as to make them better safeguard national interests and security.

"Relevant government departments should in the meantime enhance management and supervision of the Internet and timely clear out online contents that let out military secrets," he said.
