Mubarak meets Syrian official on latest Mideast developments
font size

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday met with visiting Syrian Vice President Farouk Shara on the latest Mideast developments and bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Shara briefed Mubarak on Syrian viewpoints to the developments in the Middle East, especially in the Lebanese arena, the Egyptian official MENA news agency reported.

Shara, who arrived here earlier in the day, also delivered Mubarak a message from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Shara's visit comes as part of efforts to revive the stalled peace process prior to the coming Arab summit to be held in the Saudi capital Riyadh on March 28-29, according to Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Suleiman Awad.
