A mortar attack wounded three soldiers of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force ( ISAF) at a military base in southern Afghanistan, an ISAF spokeswoman told Xinhua on Saturday.
A mortar attack occurred at the Kandahar Air Field, a major ISAF military base in Kandahar city, capital of Kandahar province, on Friday night, Angela Billings said.
She said three ISAF soldiers suffered minor injuries in the attack, but did not tell their nationalities.
Probably Taliban militants had carried out the attack, she added.
Thousands of ISAF soldiers are stationed in the sprawling base, which is protected by high security.
Kandahar province, a stronghold of Taliban militants, has suffered many suicide bombings and rising violence over the past year.
As it gets warmer, Afghanistan has witnessed many more Taliban- linked attacks and clashes.
