font size

Vietnam will spend state monies of 7 trillion Vietnamese dong (437.5 million U.S. dollars) on upgrading existing vocational establishments and building new ones from now to 2010, local newspaper Transport reported Wednesday.

A total of 7.5 million people will receive vocational training in the 2007-2010 period, of whom 7.5 percent are estimated to attend vocational colleges, 22.5 percent schools, and 70 percent short training courses, the newspaper quoted the country's Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs as reporting.

By 2010, Vietnam will have 90 colleges, 270 schools, and 750 centers specializing in offering high-quality vocational training.
