Two U.S. soldiers were killed and a third was injured in separate incidents in Iraq on Tuesday, the U.S. military said on Wednesday.
A soldier assigned to Multi-National Force was killed and another wounded by "indirect fire" in Baghdad's Green Zone, which houses U.S. embassy and Iraqi government offices, the military said in a statement.
"Indirect fire" in the statement refers to mortar or rocket attacks.
In a separate incident, a marine assigned to Multi-National Force - West, died while conducting combat operations in the volatile Anbar province in western Iraq, another statement said.
About 3,245 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U. S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
