font size

The number of credit card holders in China is expected to exceed 60 million by the end of 2007, according to a report released Thursday by China National Radio and Beijing Sino Credit Technologies, Inc.

The report was based on a survey of 20,000 people in more than 100 cities including Beijing and Shanghai.

Shanghai is home to the greatest number of credit card holders with more women owning one than men, while Beijing ranks second.

The report showed that white-collar professionals between the age of 26 and 33 accounted for almost 38 percent of the total while people between the age of 57 and 60, just 1.7 per cent.
