China hopes for political, social stability in Ukraine: FM spokesman

China sincerely hopes Ukraine can maintain its political and social stability, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said in Beijing Tuesday.

Qin made the remark when asked to comment on Ukrainian President Yushchenko's decree to dissolve the parliament.

Qin told a regular press conference that Yushchenko's decision belongs to Ukraine's internal affairs.

He said China sincerely hopes to see a stable Ukraine and that the China-Ukraine friendly relations will continue to grow.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko singed a decree to dissolve parliament on Monday and called a parliamentary election on May 27.
