China is willing to make joint efforts with Sudan in pushing forward the friendly cooperation between the two countries and the two armies, said Xu Caihou, vice-chairman of China's Central Military Commission, Tuesday.
In a meeting with visiting Chief of Joint Staff of Sudanese armed forces Haj Ahmed El Gaili, Xu said China and Sudan have conducted fruitful cooperation in various fields and the two countries have reached broad consensus on major international issues.
Sudan appreciates China's support and assistance over the years and the Sudanese government cherishes its relations with China, Haj Ahmed El Gaili said.
Sudan hoped to further strengthen exchanges between the military personnel of the two countries, he said, adding Sudan will firmly stand by the one China policy.
The two sides also exchanged views on the issue of Darfur, a war-torn region in western Sudan.
Haj Ahmed El Gaili, who arrived Sunday, is here on an eight-day visit as guest of Chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Liang Guanglie.
He is also scheduled to visit Nanjing and Shanghai in east China.
