Qatar's 13-member cabinet led by the new Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor al- Thani has taken oath to assume position on Tuesday, Qatar's state news agency QNA reported.
Earlier in the day, Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al- Thani appointed Sheikh Hamad, the Foreign Minister, as the leader of the new cabinet.
The new prime minister will still hold the post of foreign minister, said QNA, citing an Emiri decree which was released several minutes after the former Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani resigned from the post.
Most key portfolios in the new cabinet, including energy, finance and interior, have remained unchanged. Sheikha Ahmed al- Mahmoud, the only female cabinet member, also retained her position as Minister of Education.
