Palestinian Information Minister Mustafa al-Barghouti announced on Thursday that the national coalition cabinet will discuss on Saturday an overall new security plan.
Barghouti, also the spokesman of the coalition government, told reporters that the Interior Ministry had presented a draft security plan aiming at ending the state of lawlessness and security chaos that has been dominating the Palestinian territories for the past few months.
"The cabinet will convene a special session on Saturday to discuss the plan and approve it," he said.
The minister added that the plan would also end attacks on civilians and their properties, and would focus on imposing law and discipline.
Interior Minister Hani al-Qawasmi of the coalition government announced earlier that he had prepared a security plan, which, if implemented, would end the chaos and impose law and discipline within 100 days.
Dozens had been killed over the past few months during clan disputes, factions fighting and chaos in the Palestinian territories.
