Chinese top legislator to attend Boao Asian forum annual conference

Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, will attend the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) to be held from April 20 to 22.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the announcement at a regular press conference on Thursday.

Qin said Wu will give a keynote speech at the conference and meet with leaders attending the conference.

The BFA was established in 2001 with the aim to realize prosperity in Asia. The BFA Annual Conference gathers together senior government officials, business executives as well as leading academics whose activities affect Asia.
