Polish President Lech Kaczynski offered on Thursday Polish participation in mediations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, the PAP news agency reported.
Kaczynski told reporters that he was concerned over the situation in Ukraine. The president said he discussed the situation in Ukraine with German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the telephone on Thursday.
The president declared that he would take part in resolving the conflict in Ukraine if he was asked to do so by the Ukrainian president.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko issued an order on Monday to dissolve parliament and hold early elections on May 27. Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and his ruling coalition in parliament have refused to accept the order. On Thursday Yanukovych called for international mediation to resolve the crisis.
